About the Role & Program:
ABC News Digital is the 24/7 platform for ABC News, reaching our audience with breaking news around the clock, as well as features and in-depth reporting. The award-winning editorial team at ABC News Digital works with the newsgathering division as well as other shows and platforms at America's most-trusted news source to deliver original reporting on the major stories of the day in a compelling format.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player with experience reporting and writing news articles on deadline, with a willingness to develop those skills further. The ideal candidate should know how to approach a story holistically – weaving together information from the field and their own reporting to create stories that are sharp, informative and highly visual.
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 through early January 2027.
What you will do:
Support the editorial tasks of the team, including reporting and writing articles for the website and taking on tasks necessary for the operation of the team.
Pitching and executing daily general assignment Digital text stories, turning around stories with speed and accuracy
Collaborating with newsgathering and ABC News Digital’s editorial seniors, as well as the various teams we work with, including for photos, graphics, videos, as well as our platforms and social teams.
Support the production of Digital stories, including templating notes from reporting teams or checking transcripts against tape.
Required qualifications and skills:
Text news writing experience
Ability to write clean copy on a deadline
Portfolio with examples of news writing
Preferred qualification and skills:
Experience with web publishing, SEO and AP style
Education:
Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing journalism/English degree
Eligibility Requirements & Internship Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 through early January 2027
Fully available from Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, generally from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm ET (with occasional shift changes as news coverage requires)
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.50 per hour.
