The Sourcing Specialist will be part of an Enterprise Sourcing team responsible for Sourcing & Procurement activities related to Freight Transportation, Third-Party Logistics, Warehousing, Corporate Travel and various 3rd party operational services with a focus on client management, supplier management, and category development in support of the business units and/or Segment. This team member will be accountable for partnering with various stakeholders and supporting sourcing initiatives that achieve value without compromising business strategy and performance.
The Supply Chain & Travel Enterprise Sourcing team is dedicated to managing the Company's third-party supplier strategy, supporting Disney Segments including but not limited to Disney Experiences, Studio Operations, Consumer Products, Media Networks and various other departments. Our responsibility is to collaborate with our internal clients in the development of strategies, conducting analyses, selecting suppliers, negotiating terms/pricing, and managing ongoing relationships in compliance with internal policies and procedures to achieve supply chain excellence, safeguard the Disney brand, and mitigate risks.
The Sourcing Specialist will be part of an Enterprise Sourcing team responsible for Sourcing & Procurement activities related to Freight Transportation, Third-Party Logistics, Warehousing, Corporate Travel, and various third-party operational services. The focus will be on client management, supplier management, and category development to support business units and/or segments. This team member will be accountable for partnering with various stakeholders and supporting sourcing initiatives that deliver value without compromising business strategy and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances.
- Participate in cross-functional sourcing projects with key internal stakeholders across all modes of transportation, including but not limited to containerized ocean freight, trucking, small parcel, heavy air, and warehousing/fulfillment services.
- Evaluate vendors, firms and other consultants based on established selection criteria
- Develop and lead RFI/RFP’s process for various goods and professional services, in accordance with TWDC policy and procedures.
- Analyze bids based on total cost/supply to identify opportunities to achieve optimal value
- Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations following pre-defined Strategic Sourcing methodology
- Prepare and execute contracts as well as perform post-award administration (e.g. negotiating, issuing change orders, contract closeouts)
- Understand and assist in the development and execution of performance management programs with suppliers that focus on quality, responsiveness and cost
- Ensure compliance with Sourcing policies and best practices
- Communicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships that could affect planning and decision-making
- Analyze marketing industry trends and conditions that affect internal stakeholders and external suppliers and/or pricing
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze complex processes and lead workgroups to help resolve problem areas
- Subject-matter expertise in international and domestic modes of transportation and cost structures
- Demonstrated capacity to influence future clients at all levels in the organization
- Excellent communicator able to demonstrate communicating effectively with senior management
- High-energy, self-motivated with a desire to excel in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ideal candidate will have up to 2 years’ experience in a Strategic Sourcing environment
- Knowledge of Sourcing & Procurement processes and best practices, sourcing tools and programs, basic legal terms & conditions. Category-relevant background preferred.
Required Education
- BA/BS degree required
Preferred Education
- Specialization in Business, Supply Chain Management or other quantitative discipline preferred
