The Consumer Insights, Measurement, and Analytics (CIMA) organization informs strategy development through actionable data analytics, integration, and insights. The Consumer Insight (CI) team is a key part of CIMA, and we provide consumer centric solutions through deep understanding of all relevant audiences.
We are seeking a motivated brand strategist with a deep understanding of Growth Audiences and the ability to turn complex data into compelling stories that inspire and gain advocacy with peer to executive level audiences to serve as Consumer Foresight Manager on the Growth Audience Insights team. The Growth Audience Insights team provides insights, strategy, and tactical support to teams executing on objectives to strengthen engagement with high potential Growth Audiences, which represent a growing market opportunity due to increasing buying power, population size, and influence.
The Consumer Foresight Manager will be responsible for translating complex data on Growth Audiences into actionable narratives for strategic marketing partners across Disney Experiences. The Growth Audiences Insights team consolidates data and insights identified through primary research and always-on scanning of secondary research to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and shape strategies for growth markets. The optimal candidate will have proven success in independently interpreting and translating data into insights and collaborating with partners to solve complex challenges.
This role will report to the Senior Manager, Growth Audience Insights.
Responsibilities:
Every day on the Growth Audience Insights team is unique. On any given day you might:
Demonstrate nuanced knowledge of and curiosity around Growth Audiences – Develop a holistic understanding of demographic, social, and cultural trends that impact Growth Audiences for Disney Experiences businesses, including growth in buying power, population size, and influence of Asian American Pacific Islander, Black, Hispanic/Latino, LGBTQIA+, and People with Disabilities consumers.
Think expansively – Look at issues from a variety of perspectives and create new ways to examine consumer sentiment, behaviors, and patterns. Exercise future thinking to predict consumer expectations and provide partners with inputs to inform long-term strategy.
Tell a compelling story – Use all available resources and experience to gather and synthesize insights, uncovering and communicating stories within the data, while providing objective, clear and actionable insight to partners across the organization.
Team up with partners - Foster relationships with internal partners to build influence, manage external vendor relationships, and lead specific work-streams with the guidance from leadership. Collaborate to gain multiple, genuinely new perspectives on the organization’s most challenging problems and most compelling opportunities. Be a thought leader and consult at the highest levels of the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum five years relevant experience in a field or function related to Growth Audience Insights. Skills may include Multicultural marketing or research, cultural/social inclusion research, audience analytics/segmentation, or other relevant fields
Cultural Intelligence: Comfortable sharing a point of view and providing insights on a variety of Growth Audience segments
Storytelling: Experience independently turning data into insights and communicating complex ideas with simplicity and concision that focus on both short-term and long-term goals
Content Creation: Experience using creative approaches to content development, data visualization, and information delivery
Presentation Skills: Experience presenting at all levels, including up to senior leaders and/or executives both in-person and virtually
Interpersonal and Relationship-Building: Ability to partner and work well across multiple teams and levels within a Global organization
Project Management: Experience independently managing and delivering complex projects efficiently
Software: Experience in use of Microsoft Office and presentation software such as PowerPoint (or Keynote), Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven years relevant experience in a field or function related to Growth Audience Insights
Experience in project management of primary and secondary research projects
Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including market research, trend analysis, benchmarking, and opportunity identification
Experience in Public Speaking to a range of small to large audiences, including executives
Experience in data analytics, including management and manipulation of large data sets through statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R)
Bilingual or multi-lingual language fluency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese, or French)
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience – relevant areas include Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Market Research, Behavioral Economics, Marketing Strategy, and Business Administration
